We went to visit the Madras Crocodile Bank and the Centre for Herpetology where they collect venom from dangerous snakes in order to create anti-venom. When we visited they had 659 snakes, kept in jars. They keep up to 3 snakes in a jar for a month and then release them back where they found them. They collect the venom once a week and feed them 3-4 rats each at a time, every week. http://www.madrascrocodilebank.org
The park is definitely worth visiting and has a wide range of wildlife, and, of course, crododiles!!
It looked dead, but it definitely was not… and a bit scary too…
